Sant Lluís is a small, well-preserved municipality in the southeastern corner of Menorca, founded by the French during their brief occupation of the island in the eighteenth century. The airport operates direct flights to major European cities including London, Barcelona, Madrid, and Frankfurt, with journey times ranging from two to three hours. Mahón also has a ferry port with regular services to Barcelona and Valencia, with crossings taking between four and nine hours depending on the route and vessel.
