Sant Lluís is a small, well-preserved municipality in the southeastern corner of Menorca, known for its whitewashed architecture and the unhurried pace of its village life. Founded by French settlers in the eighteenth century during the brief French occupation of the island, it retains a distinct character that sets it apart from the more commercialised resort towns. The surrounding countryside is flat and open, marked by dry-stone walls, ancient camí de cavalls paths, and direct access to some of the island’s most sheltered coves.

Cala Alcaufar and Punta Prima are both within a few minutes by car, offering calm, family-friendly beaches. The village centre has a weekly market, a handful of local restaurants, and the Església de Sant Lluís as its focal point. Mahón, the island capital, is approximately eight kilometres away and provides supermarkets, medical facilities, and a broader dining and cultural offer.

Mahón Airport is roughly ten kilometres from Sant Lluís, a drive of around fifteen minutes, making it one of the most conveniently positioned municipalities on the island for air access. The airport operates direct flights to major European cities including London, Barcelona, Madrid, Frankfurt, and Amsterdam, with the highest frequency of connections running from spring through early autumn. Year-round ferry services from Mahón port connect Menorca to Barcelona and Valencia for those preferring sea travel.
