Sainte-Maxime occupies the northern shore of the Gulf of Saint-Tropez, facing its more famous neighbour across the water. The town has long attracted a discerning residential clientele who value the same coastal setting as Saint-Tropez without the seasonal congestion. The nearest train station is at Saint-Raphaël, roughly 25 kilometres west, with TGV connections to Paris in under five hours. Nice Côte d’Azur International Airport, the primary international gateway for the region, is approximately 80 kilometres east, around one hour by car outside peak season.
