Saint-Raphaël sits at the western edge of the Côte d’Azur, where the red porphyry massif of the Estérel meets the Mediterranean. The town has a distinct character that separates it from the more commercialised resorts to the east: a working port, a Belle Époque seafront, and direct access to one of the most dramatic coastal landscapes in southern France. Nice Côte d’Azur International Airport is roughly fifty kilometres east, reachable in forty-five to sixty minutes by car depending on traffic. The A8 autoroute connects the town to Cannes in thirty minutes and to the Italian border in under two hours.
