Saint-Raphaël sits at the western edge of the Esterel Massif on the Côte d’Azur, where the volcanic red porphyry cliffs of the Corniche d’Or meet the Mediterranean. The town has been a destination for wealthy Parisians and international visitors since the Belle Époque, and that legacy is visible in its architecture and its unhurried pace. Nice Côte d’Azur International Airport is approximately fifty kilometres east, reachable in around forty-five minutes by car. The A8 autoroute connects the town to Cannes in thirty minutes and to Monaco in under ninety minutes, making it a practical base for the wider Riviera.
