Saint-Cyr-sur-Mer occupies a privileged stretch of the Var coastline between Bandol and Cassis, where the Massif de la Sainte-Baume meets the Mediterranean. The commune encompasses several distinct areas, including Les Lecques, La Madrague, and the calanque-edged domain of Port d’Alon, each with its own character. The landscape here is markedly less developed than the Côte d’Azur further east, with protected coastal paths, pine-covered hillsides, and clear water that draws a discreet, largely French clientele.

Les Lecques has a covered market, a handful of reliable restaurants along the port, and direct beach access. Bandol, twelve minutes by car, offers a broader restaurant scene, a weekly market, and a wine appellation of international standing. Cassis, with its celebrated calanques and village centre, is fifteen minutes in the other direction.

Toulon-Hyères Airport is approximately 45 minutes by car and handles domestic routes and some European connections. Marseille Provence Airport, with its full international network, is around 50 minutes away. The TGV station at Bandol connects to Marseille in under 30 minutes and to Paris Gare de Lyon in roughly three hours. The A50 motorway provides straightforward access to both Marseille and Toulon.
