Porreres is a small agricultural town in the interior of Mallorca, set among almond groves, vineyards, and apricot orchards in the island’s central plain known as Es Pla. It retains the unhurried character of a working Mallorcan town, with a handsome parish church, Nostra Senyora de la Consolació, anchoring the main square. Porreres has a weekly market on Sundays and a small selection of local restaurants and cafés on Plaça de la Vila. Felanitx, roughly 10 kilometres to the southeast, offers a broader range of shops and services. The coastal towns of Portocolom and Cala d’Or are within 25 to 30 minutes by car.
Palma de Mallorca is approximately 45 kilometres to the west, reachable in around 40 minutes by car via the Ma-5014 and Ma-15. Palma Airport, one of the busiest in Spain with direct connections to most major European cities, is roughly the same distance and journey time. There is no direct rail connection from Porreres, making a car essential for daily life in this part of the island.
