Ideally situated in a triangle of idyllic countryside between Saumur in the Loire valley, the city of Poitiers and the beaches of the Vendeen coast, this spacious and comfortable family home has, in addition to the main stone Priory, a medieval tower and a single storey dwelling perfect for a home office or extra family accomodation.

The Priory: Six bedrooms, five bathrooms, a large playroom. Elegant drawing room and dining room. Library/study. Kitchen with imposing medieval fireplace. Large laundry room.

The Tower: Two bedrooms, shower room, sitting room with important medieval fireplace and kitchen.

The village has a thriving Ecole Maternelle for pre-school children.

The city of Poitiers is a fifty minute drive, with its international airport with flights to London, Edinburgh and Barcelona. The Poitiers TGV station has trains to both central Paris and Bordeaux in less than 1.5 hours.

Seven minutes away is a small town which has all the essential services, including a well-stocked supermarket, pharmacy, bakery, petrol station and tabac as well as a traditional market on Sunday mornings, with locally grown vegetables, local cheeses, plants and fresh local oysters. Large supermarkets are found in two beautiful medieval towns from fourteen to twenty minutes away.

Set in the lush countryside of the Gatine, the Priory is surrounded by beautiful countryside with rich, diverse wildlife as well as forests and rivers providing wonderful walks and outdoor activities. A lake with a beach and water skiing is a short drive away and many of the region’s outstanding tourist destinations are within easy driving distance.
