Further to the geophysical beauty of the region, this quaint village is a virtual museum of the Greek folk art, since it is adorned by many Greek Orthodox churches and chapels, by several traditional windmills of Paros and by a picturesque pottery workshop. The main street, which leads to the centre of the village, is a real work of art, since it is masterfully paved and whitewashed. It is called «Rhamnos», from the homonymous tree (in English «Buckthorn» or «Ramnus Alaternus») that used to dominate along the road.
