Engel & Völkers presents JAN VAN LINSCHOTEN, a historic Dutch houseboat moored at Port de lArsenal, just steps from the Bastille, in a peaceful and privileged setting in the heart of Paris.
Measuring 23.55 metres in length and 4.92 metres in width, this riveted-steel houseboat offers approximately 75 sq m of interior space, complemented by 44.5 sq m of outdoor areas.
Built in Amsterdam in the early 1920s, fully restored in 2017 and awarded the Bateau dIntérêt Patrimonial heritage label in 2021, JAN VAN LINSCHOTEN combines the charm of a historic vessel with the comfort of a contemporary layout.
The houseboat comprises a large 21.5 sq m living area combining a lounge and fitted kitchen, a 20 sq m wheelhouse converted into a second lounge with sofa bed, and two bedrooms, each with its own shower room.
The 18 sq m front bedroom accommodates three people, including one large bed, and has a shower room with toilet. The 12.5 sq m rear bedroom has a 160 x 200 cm double bed and an adjoining shower room. A toilet/laundry area and a storage room complete the accommodation.
The interior is distinguished by its generous proportions, ample storage and natural light. The modern, fully double-glazed portholes provide excellent light and good ventilation throughout the living areas.
Outside, the houseboat features a spacious 40 sq m upper deck, arranged as a lounge and dining area during the summer, as well as a covered 4.5 sq m aft terrace, providing generous additional living spaces on the water.
The houseboat also benefits from heating provided by a Kabola oil-fired boiler, a 100-litre combination hot-water tank, a fully equipped kitchen, a washing machine and an Onan generator.
For navigation, JAN VAN LINSCHOTEN is equipped with a 210 hp Caterpillar Diesel engine, two 800-litre fuel tanks, a fresh-water reserve of approximately 3,000 litres, and navigation equipment including a Class A AIS system and fixed and portable VHF radios.
Its location at Port de lArsenal offers a rare setting in the heart of Paris, with calm waters, a secure environment, harbour security and various services provided by the port.
The mooring agreement is renewable annually. The annual fee indicated for 2025 is 1,473.10 per month, with an obligation to leave the port for 21 days per year, including 15 days during the summer.
Fully restored in 2017, it also has a technical compliance certificate dated 2018 and a sanitation inspection carried out by the City of Paris in September 2023, declared compliant.
Transaction fees, including VAT, payable by the seller.
