Villa Palma

Palma is the capital of the Balearic Islands and one of the most architecturally significant cities in the western Mediterranean. Its historic centre, anchored by the Gothic cathedral of La Seu and the Almudaina Royal Palace, carries centuries of Moorish, Gothic, and Baroque layering that gives the city a density of character rare among island capitals. The old town’s network of stone-paved streets, patrician courtyards, and converted palaces has attracted a discerning international residential community without sacrificing its authenticity.

Daily life in central Palma centres on the Mercat de l’Olivar for fresh produce, and a concentrated dining scene that includes Marc Fosh, Aromata, and Celler Sa Premsa. The Passeig des Born serves as the main civic promenade. The Fundació Miró Mallorca and Es Baluard museum of modern art are both within easy reach of the historic core.

Palma Airport (PMI) is approximately 11 kilometres from the city centre, reachable in around 15 to 20 minutes by car or taxi, and operates direct routes to most major European cities year-round, with significantly expanded capacity in summer. The port connects to Barcelona, Valencia, and Ibiza via regular ferry services. High-speed ferry crossings to Barcelona take approximately four hours. There is no high-speed rail connection to the mainland, making the airport the primary international gateway.
