Lachtal is a winter ski resort in the municipality of Oberwölz in Styria. Today, Lachtal is mainly known as a winter sports destination hosting international competitions. The ski area offers 26 km of slopes and over 10 km of ski routes, served by two chairlifts and eight drag lifts. In Lachtal, a valley northeast of Oberwölz, at the valley end at 1570 m altitude, lies the weekend house settlement of the same name, which until the end of 2014 was part of the now dissolved municipality of Schönberg-Lachtal.

The Lachtal ski area is located at 1,600–2,222 m above sea level. Established in 1960, it has been continuously expanded and modernized since. Lachtal offers not only perfect slopes but also ideal terrain for freeriders. It can be reached from Graz in just one hour by car and from Vienna in two and a half hours. Lachtal is also home to world champion and World Cup winner Nicole Schmidhofer.

Lachtal covers 150 hectares and is one of the most snow-sure and popular ski areas in Styria. It offers 25 kilometers of slopes of all difficulty levels, plus 10 km of ski routes. The ski area is equipped with 2 modern 6-seater chairlifts and 8 lifts.
