Set above the western coastline of Naxos near Mikri Vigla, Blue Wave is positioned on a rocky hillside overlooking the Aegean, with uninterrupted views across the sea and direct access to one of the island’s longest stretches of sand. The house follows the natural contours of the terrain, its whitewashed volumes and shaded terraces arranged to sit quietly within the landscape while remaining close to the beach, nearby tavernas and the shoreline extending towards Plaka.

The architecture draws from the restrained simplicity of Cycladic design, combining white masonry walls, exposed ceiling beams and built-in forms within a composition that feels both grounded and informal. Openings are positioned to frame the sea from nearly every principal room, while the elevated orientation allows natural airflow to move through the house during the warmer months. As the afternoon progresses, the western light settles softly across the plaster surfaces and polished floors, giving the interiors a calm and muted warmth.

The main living area unfolds as an open-plan sequence connecting the kitchen, dining and sitting spaces beneath high beamed ceilings. Arched passages and sculpted built-in seating soften the geometry of the interiors, while natural materials and understated finishes maintain a sense of simplicity throughout. The kitchen connects directly to the outdoor dining terrace, reinforcing the relationship between the interior spaces and the landscape beyond.

Four en-suite bedrooms are arranged to provide privacy and independence, each continuing the same restrained material palette of pale timber, soft grey tones and textured surfaces. Several rooms open directly onto terraces facing the sea, while the bathrooms echo the architecture of the house through smooth cement finishes and integrated detailing.

Outdoor living forms a central part of the property. The infinity pool faces directly towards the horizon, positioned to capture changing light across the water from morning through sunset. Shaded terraces, built-in lounge areas and outdoor dining spaces are arranged across different levels of the plot, creating sheltered areas throughout the day while remaining visually connected to the coastline below.

Around the house, the landscape remains largely natural, with exposed rock, cedar trees and low Mediterranean planting blending into the hillside. Stone pathways and terraces step gradually through the property, allowing the architecture to feel integrated into the terrain rather than imposed upon it. The western orientation brings open sunset views across the coastline, with the final light of the day reflecting directly across the water and terraces.

Blue Wave combines the privacy of an elevated coastal setting with immediate access to some of Naxos’ most sought-after beaches, creating a residence closely connected both to the landscape and to the everyday rhythm of the island.
