Mijas Pueblo sits at around 430 metres above sea level in the foothills of the Sierra de Mijas, roughly 30 kilometres southwest of Málaga city. The village is one of the most intact examples of a traditional Andalusian pueblo blanco on the Costa del Sol, with whitewashed streets, flower-filled courtyards, and a central square, the Plaza de la Constitución, that has defined the social life of the town for centuries. The combination of mountain elevation and direct sea views over the Mediterranean is genuinely rare at this scale.
Daily life in Mijas Pueblo centres on the old town, where Restaurante El Mirlo Blanco and Valparaíso are established dining options. The weekly market supplies fresh produce. Fuengirola, with its larger supermarkets, shops, and beach promenade, is a ten-minute drive. Several championship golf courses, including La Cala Golf Resort, are within fifteen minutes by car.
Málaga Airport (AGP) is approximately 25 kilometres away, reachable in around 20 to 25 minutes by car, and operates direct routes to most major European cities as well as transatlantic connections. Fuengirola train station, connecting to Málaga city centre in around 35 minutes and to Málaga Maria Zambrano high-speed rail hub, is roughly 12 kilometres from the pueblo. The AP-7 motorway provides fast access along the entire Costa del Sol corridor.
