Venetian Gothic remains one of the most notable styles in architectural history, dating back to the 14th century and influenced by Byzantine, Moorish and Ottoman design. Perfected by the Venetians, celebrated examples include the Palazzo Ducale, Ca’ d’Oro and the Palazzo Cavalli Franchetti.
Lothbury was designed by the renowned RIBA architect George Somers Clarke in the late 1860s, who also contributed to the designs for the Palace of Westminster.
