Nevora sits quietly above the coastline of Ios, positioned on a terraced hillside with open westward views across the bay, surrounding hills, and the evening light that settles over the island at dusk. Built in natural stone and designed with low horizontal lines that follow the contours of the land, the house feels closely connected to the landscape around it. Although private and peaceful, the property remains within easy reach of Ios Town and the beach at Mylopotas, balancing seclusion with immediate access to the island’s daily life.

Approached by a gently curving stone drive, the residence reveals itself gradually through retaining walls, planted terraces, and broad paved outdoor spaces that frame the surrounding scenery. The architecture draws from traditional Cycladic forms while introducing a more contemporary restraint, combining textured local stone with clean white interiors, pale timber details, and wide openings oriented toward the sea.

Arranged across two principal levels, the house has been designed for relaxed island living with an emphasis on openness, natural light, and flexibility of use. The upper floor contains the main living spaces, where the sitting room, dining area, and kitchen connect seamlessly to expansive outdoor terraces overlooking the horizon. Full-height doors allow the interior to remain continuously linked to the landscape, while the restrained material palette keeps the atmosphere calm and understated. Morning light enters softly through the eastern side of the house, while the western terraces become the focal point by late afternoon as the sun lowers over the bay.

The bedrooms follow the same quiet architectural language, with integrated wardrobes, soft neutral tones, and carefully framed views across the island and sea. The lower level functions almost as an independent guest residence, incorporating a second kitchen, additional sitting area, and private bedroom accommodation suited for visitors or extended stays. The layout creates natural separation between social and private areas while maintaining continuity throughout the home.

Outdoor living forms an essential part of the property. Covered dining areas, shaded verandas, and broad terraces are positioned to take advantage of the island’s changing light and prevailing breezes. The outdoor kitchen and long dining table sit beneath a timber pergola overlooking the valley and sea beyond, creating a setting designed equally for slow mornings and evenings outdoors. As the sun begins to set, the stone terraces gradually retain the warmth of the day while the surrounding hills turn bronze under the fading light.

The property has already been fully pre-engineered for the construction of a swimming pool, with all infrastructure in place. The visualisations presented illustrate how naturally the pool integrates into the architecture and terraced landscape, extending the outdoor living areas toward the horizon without interrupting the simplicity of the design.

Throughout the house, the architectural approach remains intentionally restrained. Scheduled for completion in summer 2026, Nevora presents a contemporary interpretation of island living on Ios — grounded in landscape, orientation, and simplicity, while remaining highly functional for both seasonal use and longer stays.
