A city of residence for kings and nobles, and of extraordinary heritage, reflected in unique monuments such as the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Charity, built in 1588 in the Plaza de los Infanzones. The Sanctuary was decorated by Doménico Theotocopuli ”El Greco” and was considered by him to be ”his most perfect work”. We can also admire the spectacular Mudejar Tower, called ”La Giraldilla de La Sagra” which belongs to the parish of Santa María, being one of the few monuments of the Muslim-Christian transition.
