Grimaud occupies a privileged position in the Var department, with its medieval hilltop village rising above the Gulf of Saint-Tropez and a lower coastal extension, Port Grimaud, that has become one of the most recognisable waterfront developments on the French Riviera. The village itself retains its Provençal character, with stone lanes, a Romanesque church, and the ruins of a Grimaldi castle that frame views across the gulf. It is a quieter, more residential alternative to Saint-Tropez, favoured by buyers who want proximity without the congestion.

The village centre offers a weekly market, several well-regarded restaurants including La Bretonnière, and easy access to the beaches of Cogolin and Saint-Pons. Port Grimaud, a short drive below, provides marina berths, waterfront dining, and direct boat access to Saint-Tropez. The town of Sainte-Maxime is approximately 10 kilometres east.

Saint-Tropez is reachable in around 15 minutes by car outside peak season, though summer traffic on the D98A can extend this considerably. The nearest train station is at Les Arcs-Draguignan, approximately 35 kilometres north, with TGV connections to Paris in roughly four hours. Toulon-Hyères Airport is around 70 kilometres west, and Nice Côte d’Azur Airport, the primary international hub for the region, is approximately 90 kilometres east, with a drive of around 90 minutes.
