Historic Andalusian Inn, Rural House with Licensed Tavern and Exclusive Luxury Rural Tourism Property
Nestled in the rolling hills of the beautiful Guadalhorce Valley, surrounded by stunning mountain landscapes and picturesque white villages, lies one of the most authentic hospitality properties in southern Spain. Originally built in 1852 as a traditional Andalusian inn and former grain mill, this exceptional estate has been carefully restored to become an elegant rural accommodation where authentic architecture, historic character, and modern comfort blend perfectly.
Every corner of the property reflects its rich history while offering the luxury, comfort, and atmosphere expected by the most discerning guests. Located just 35 minutes from Málaga International Airport and the beaches of the Costa del Sol, the property enjoys a privileged location in a charming Andalusian village of approximately 400 inhabitants. Here, guests enjoy absolute tranquility, privacy, and an authentic Spanish living experience without sacrificing proximity to Málaga, Marbella, the airport, and numerous Andalusian attractions.
The property is officially registered with the Junta de Andalucía as a Superior Category Rural House and offers luxury accommodation for up to twelve guests across six elegant suites. Additionally, it holds a valuable municipal license as a Rural House with Tavern, allowing operation both as rural tourism lodging and an authorized restaurant. This rare combination of tourist registration and restaurant license provides extraordinary operational flexibility and numerous opportunities for future owners to continue developing a successful business.
To further strengthen the property’s legal security, the current owner has initiated, at their own expense, the process to obtain the AFO (Equivalent to Out of Planning). The Town Hall has confirmed that the estate meets the requirements for granting the AFO, with only the official administrative certificate pending issuance. Since the timing depends solely on the Administration, the final certificate may not have been issued at the time of sale. In such cases, the parties may agree that part of the purchase price remains deposited in a guarantee account managed by the acting lawyer or notary until the official AFO certificate is delivered. All costs related to this procedure will be borne by the current owner, offering the buyer greater security and peace of mind while allowing the transaction to proceed without unnecessary delays.
Important: Due to this administrative situation, it is currently not possible to obtain mortgage financing on the property.
Access through the quiet village immediately marks the special character of the estate. Its winding streets lead to a property that feels completely secluded from the outside world. Upon arrival, a large private parking area with several covered spaces welcomes visitors before reaching well-maintained Mediterranean gardens with palm trees, flowering shrubs, mature trees, and panoramic views over the Guadalhorce Valley and the Sierra de las Nieves.
The estate covers approximately 5,700 m², of which about 2,000 m² have been carefully landscaped for guests’ enjoyment. At the heart of the garden is a spectacular 10 x 6 meter pool with an integrated jacuzzi, surrounded by spacious terraces to relax while enjoying the magnificent Andalusian climate and uninterrupted mountain views.
The restoration has been carried out with great respect for the building’s history. Original wooden beams over 150 years old, bricks recovered from old churches and monasteries, handcrafted terracotta floors, traditional Arab tiles, and solid oak doors create a warm, elegant, and completely authentic atmosphere. At the same time, all modern comforts have been discreetly incorporated, such as double glazing, thermal and acoustic insulation, air conditioning, and electronic key access.
Inside, the cozy reception immediately impresses with its magnificent natural stone fireplace, exposed beam ceilings, and pleasant seating areas. Next to the reception is the charming restaurant and breakfast room, whose large windows frame spectacular landscape views and open directly onto the covered terrace. These facilities are complemented by a fully equipped professional kitchen, offering excellent possibilities for breakfast service, destination restaurant, celebrations...
