A Legendary History: Moscato di Scanzo boasts historical origins dating back to Roman times, with official records from 1372. In the 18th century, the architect Giacomo Quarenghi introduced it to Catherine the Great of Russia, who was so captivated that she ordered regular shipments for the St. Petersburg court—making it famous and esteemed enough to be listed as the most expensive wine on the London Stock Exchange at the time.
