Elegant Historic Home In The Heart Of Florence

In the heart of the historic center of Florence, within a splendid Renaissance palace of great historical and artistic value, we offer for sale a charming apartment located on the second floor.

The building, constructed in the 15th century for the Ferrantini family, passed in the 16th century to the Caccini family, who undertook a refined renovation in late-16th-century style. The inner courtyard preserves precious frescoes of the loggia with grotesques and allegorical figures attributed to Bernardino Poccetti, while the monumental portal is a work attributable to the hand of Bartolomeo Ammannati. In the early 17th century, Matteo Caccini, a passionate botanist, created a garden of rare and exotic plants at the back of the palace, a sort of experimental botanical garden. Among the illustrious guests of the palace is also remembered the philosopher Arthur Schopenhauer, who stayed there between 1818 and 1819.

The apartment opens onto an entrance that leads to the bright living area, characterized by a large window and a charming period fireplace. On the same level, there are a functional kitchenette, a master bedroom, and a finely furnished bathroom, embellished with Venetian-style mirrors with Murano glass details.

A refined spiral staircase leads to the upper floor, where a spacious second bedroom unfolds with a splendid view of the city’s monuments. Completing the floor are a second bathroom with a shower and a convenient room used as a laundry.
The property represents a rare opportunity for those wishing to live or invest in a charming residence, immersed in the history and timeless beauty of Florence.

Borgo Pinti is one of the most charming and authentic streets in the historic center of Florence, located within the circle of ancient medieval walls, just steps away from Santa Croce, Sant’Ambrogio, and the Duomo. It is a street rich in history, elegance, and city life, capable of combining the prestige of Renaissance Florence with a genuinely Florentine atmosphere.

The street is characterized by important historic palaces, many of which date back to the Renaissance, ancient noble residences, cloisters, and decorated courtyards. Borgo Pinti also hosts significant cultural and religious institutions, such as the Luigi Cherubini Conservatory and the former monastery of Santa Maria Maddalena de’ Pazzi, which contribute to making the area particularly refined and quiet compared to other more touristy areas of the center.

Despite the tranquility, the area is extremely well-served: in the immediate vicinity, there are neighborhood shops, typical restaurants, artisan workshops, schools, supermarkets, and the lively Sant’Ambrogio market. The location allows for easy walking access to the main monuments, museums, and historic squares of the city in just a few minutes.

Borgo Pinti is highly appreciated both by Florentine residents and by an international clientele seeking an elegant, central yet not chaotic environment. Living in this area means immersing oneself daily in the history and beauty of Florence, while at the same time enjoying comfort, services, and a high quality of life.
