The antique villa became part of the patrimony of the prestigious Florentine Strozzi family in 1460 and is distinguished at its entrance by the presence of the exquisite Renaissance portal in pietra serena, bearing the family crest on the architrave.
The villa consists of a central body whose south façade is characterized by the presence of a large three-arched loggia, in Ionic style, surmounted by an upper floor punctuated by architraved windows, flanked by semi-columns that perfectly match the aesthetic principles of the Renaissance. The west façade is more articulated and is punctuated by regular openings, some of which have 19th-century balconies and grilles.
In the 19th century, Florence became a popular destination for foreigners thanks to the ‘Grand Tour’, attracting visitors in search of history, art and culture. From this period, the villa passed to two important foreign families, who renovated it according to the canons of the late 19th century. A classical taste that then influenced the architectural landscape of the beautiful Florentine hills.
