Built between 1891 and 1893 on the initiative of José Joaquim de Almeida Junça, to house the workers of his Fonte Santa Factory (Cerâmicas Junça), Vila do Tijolo is a rare and remarkable example of industrial architecture in exposed brick in Lisbon only comparable to the iconic Campo Pequeno Bullring.
