Il castello ha origini medievali e gode di una ricca storia culturale e sociale. Ancor prima del 1200-1300, il castello dello Dello rappresentò la prima difesa all’interno di un sistema di fortificazioni per la città circostante. La «Rocca», così chiamata dagli abitanti, difendeva la città. Nel corso dei secoli vi furono anche un fossato, un ponte levatoio, un cancello difensivo, un cortile, un orto e terreni incolti.
Entrando dalla porta di proprietà, troviamo un ampio cortile lastricato con tre strutture distinte: il corpo di guardia a destra, il castello a sinistra e le scuderie alla fine del cortile. Il castello si sviluppa su tre piani per un totale di circa 1600 m2. L’area ristorante è al piano terra, con conseguenti adattamenti sanitari.
Proseguendo, c’è un ampio ingresso con una scala che conduce ai piani superiori composto da vari locali con cantina e ripostiglio. Al primo piano, sopra la zona ristorante, è stato creato un gruppo di servizi con ripostiglio, un soggiorno e due camere da letto. Mentre sopra l’appartamento, attraverso la scala, c’è un secondo appartamento composto da due stanze/soggiorno, cucina e due camere da letto con bagno. Al piano mansardato, sopra la zona ristorante, sono state ricavate due camere da letto. Mentre al di sopra della zona residenziale, ci sono tre ampie stanze ad altezze variabili dove è possibile ottenere facilmente stanze abitabili.
La proprietà comprende anche un corpo di guardia e una stalla. Il corpo di guardia, di circa 90 metri quadrati, aveva anticamente la funzione di ospitare i custodi dell’edificio principale, con uno stile che richiama interamente il castello.
