Vallauris sits in the hills above the Côte d’Azur between Cannes and Antibes, a town shaped by centuries of ceramics tradition and given international prominence when Pablo Picasso worked and exhibited here in the early 1950s. The old town retains its artisan character, with pottery workshops lining the main street and the Musée National Picasso occupying the Renaissance château at its centre. The surrounding landscape is one of pine-covered hills dropping toward a coastline of considerable distinction.

Daily life draws on both Vallauris itself and the immediate coastal strip of Golfe-Juan, where the market, waterfront restaurants, and the beach are all within a few minutes by car. Cannes, with its full range of dining, the Forville market, and the Croisette, is roughly ten minutes away. Antibes and Juan-les-Pins are equally close in the other direction.

Nice Côte d’Azur International Airport is approximately 25 kilometres away, reachable in around 30 minutes by car under normal conditions, with direct services to most major European cities and intercontinental connections. Cannes train station provides regular TGV services to Paris in roughly five and a half hours, and regional rail links run along the coast to Nice, Monaco, and Menton.
