Bonnieux is one of the most architecturally intact perched villages in the Luberon, rising sharply above the Calavon valley on the northern face of the Petit Luberon massif. The village divides into a lower and upper section, with the 12th-century old church at its summit commanding views across to Lacoste, Ménerbes, and the Vaucluse plateau. Café de la Gare in Bonnieux and Le Fournil restaurant are established local references. Apt, 12 kilometres east, serves as the main market town for weekly provisioning.
Bonnieux sits approximately 50 kilometres from Avignon, where both the TGV station and the city centre are reachable in under an hour by car.
