Antibes occupies a singular position on the Côte d’Azur, sitting between Cannes and Nice with a character that neither city can replicate. The old town, enclosed by Vauban-designed ramparts that drop directly into the Mediterranean, has a density of history and architectural texture that feels genuinely lived-in rather than preserved for tourism. The weekly and daily markets, the narrow streets of the Vieil Antibes, and the working port give the city a credibility that its more glamorous neighbours sometimes lack.

The Marché Provençal on Cours Masséna runs six mornings a week and anchors daily life in the old town. Restaurant Le Brulot on Rue Frédéric Isnard is a long-standing local institution. The Cap d’Antibes peninsula, a short drive south, is home to the Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc and some of the most valuable residential real estate on the French Riviera.

Antibes has its own train station on the main Marseille to Ventimiglia line, with frequent services reaching Nice in around 25 minutes and Cannes in under 15 minutes. Nice Côte d’Azur International Airport is approximately 20 kilometres away, accessible in 20 to 30 minutes by car or via a combination of train and shuttle. The A8 motorway connects Antibes directly to Monaco, Marseille, and the Italian border.
