Description
The farmhouse was born as an original nucleus in the late Middle Ages, with subsequent increases to its present size, as one of the many farms in the area, it stands in the middle of one of the hills of the area of neatly cultivated fields located at the foot of Volterra. With an area of about 700 square meters on two levels, it is divided into two independent areas that can be connected if desired. The main part has on the ground floor a large kitchen and adjacent living area, rooms characterized by stones and brick vaults in terracotta tiles, and on the second floor a large hallway divides three bedrooms and a bathroom. The other half of the farmhouse is divided into 6 apartments each with independent entrance, three of which are on the ground floor and three on the second floor, each has two double bedrooms, bathroom and living room with kitchenette.
Outdoor space
The part of the garden closest to the farmhouse, about 2,000 square meters, is fenced to give a sense of protection, in the part farthest from the farmhouse we find the regular-shaped swimming pool measuring 12 x 6. In front of the part of the farm destined to the manor house there is a pompeiana with a roof made of typical Tuscan tiles that is meant to give shade and protection to its inhabitants. In front of the various apartments located on the ground floor it is possible to create private corners with tables and chairs. The various shrubs and trees that dot this garden offer in turn relaxing, shady and cool nooks, also thanks to the breeze coming from the sea and dampening the heat of the countryside. Beyond the walled garden are the cultivated fields and covering an area of about 95 hectares, which in turn are dotted with small patches of green thanks to the various groups of tall trees. The panorama leaves one speechless and offers a postcard that changes its colors depending on the season, from gray to green and shades of yellow and ochre depending on the degree of ripeness of the grain.
Condition and finishes
The last renovation was completed in 2005 and involved both the apartments and the main part, installations, finishes, fixtures and everything necessary to offer maximum comfort to the house, in compliance also with the latest regulations. The materials used are typical Tuscan, very much those ancient, recovered, for a visual effect extremely pleasant and well inserted in the surrounding context.
