Above Verona — the UNESCO World Heritage city of the Arena and of Romeo and Juliet, an hour from Venice and minutes from the vineyards of Valpolicella and the shores of Lake Garda — the first hills have been, for over a century, the settled address of the city’s cultivated establishment: those who chose not to leave Verona, but to inhabit its higher edge.
Villa Tre Tempi belongs to that world. Built around 1920 on the first slopes of Quinzano, it is a patrician belvedere villa that has kept its original character intact — and now waits to be read anew.

The estate is read in three movements.
First, the architecture. A façade marked by green shutters and crowned with statuary; two adjoining buildings — the principal residence and a second wing — joined into a single body laid along the ridge. Above the treetops rises a belvedere tower with twin-light windows, by which the villa is recognised from the valley and from which, in turn, the full sweep of the panorama is returned.
Second, the grounds. Some three hectares surround the house: terraces and a formal Italian garden, olive trees and centuries-old specimens, a well among the cypresses, stone seats in the shade. The garden facing the residence is a designated historic garden; the remainder opens as private, well-exposed land.
Third, the position. From the terraces the gaze runs far — hills, vineyards, the city below — while Verona’s historic centre, its river and its theatres remain a few minutes away. The stillness of the hill and the city within sight, in a single breath.

The interiors await restoration. This is the condition that architecture of this rank asks for, to be led back to its own design: a clean canvas on which one may intervene without overwriting. Venetian terrazzo, rosette stuccowork, original parquet, exposed beams, a stone fireplace and a cellar carved into the living rock remain in place, tracing the path of a considered recovery. Read in the right way, the property becomes a single grand residence, or a family compound of distinct, independently accessed apartments beneath one roof — a configuration of increasing rarity in the hills of Verona.
