Vallauris occupies a hillside position between Cannes and Antibes, with the bay of Golfe-Juan at its foot and pine-covered slopes rising behind. The town carries a distinct cultural identity rooted in ceramics and studio craft, reinforced by Pablo Picasso’s extended residence here in the late 1940s and early 1950s. That legacy is still legible in the town’s character: a working creative community alongside the established residential fabric of the eastern Côte d’Azur.

Daily life centres on the market at Place de l’Homme au Mouton and the ceramic workshops along Avenue Georges Clemenceau. The beach at Golfe-Juan is a ten-minute drive, with the port offering waterfront dining. Antibes and its covered market are fifteen minutes by car. Cannes is roughly the same distance in the other direction.

Cannes train station is approximately ten minutes by car and provides direct TGV connections to Paris in around five and a half hours. Nice Côte d’Azur International Airport is thirty to thirty-five minutes by road, with direct flights to most major European cities and intercontinental connections. The A8 motorway, accessible from Antibes or Cannes, links the area to Monaco, Nice, and the Italian border.
