The Torre dell’Architetto for sale is a unique and fascinating property in Rancitella, in the beautiful hills of Montefeltro, about 10 kilometres from Urbino, a UNESCO heritage site.

It consists of a 15th-century watchtower joined to a 19th-century farmhouse in a single building. The buildings were renovated in 1976 by Giancarlo De Carlo, an internationally renowned architect and urban planner, whose works can be admired in cities such as Venice, Rimini, Terni, Beirut, San Marino and Catania, and who was awarded the Wolf Prize in 1988, the Fritz Schumacher Medal in 1990, the RIBA Royal Gold Medal in 1993 and the Presidential Gold Medal in 2008.

In renovating the building, he combined the charm of the historic stone and brick structure with contemporary architectural solutions, such as large windows, spacious interiors, the interplay of height differences and striking light cuts. For these characteristics, the building has been recognised as an important artistic building by the Ministry of Culture.
In 2014, the building underwent a restoration and modernisation project that included the complete re-roofing with insulation and replacement of the old tiles, new custom-made wooden exterior doors and windows by PB Finestre di Terre Roveresche, and the installation of a new condensing heating system with an LPG boiler with new pipes and radiators.
