This is truly a gem in Tulum—a home perfect for enjoying with family and friends, but also an ideal investment opportunity, as it works exceptionally well for high-end luxury retreats and rentals. It’s composed of 4 bedrooms that sleep up to 10 people.
Laid out on a single level with an “L”-shaped floor plan, the house is designed to open up to the existing body of water and take advantage of the jungle views, with a north-facing orientation. The construction is mostly narrow in section, aiming to maximize natural light and cross ventilation in each of its spaces. The tropical environment is the main focus, with even the bathrooms of each of the four bedrooms designed as private open-air patios.
The main hallway, which connects the entire house, also functions as a large terrace, referencing Mexican haciendas and country houses, where such spaces typically serve a dual purpose: to connect and to be a place to relax. Since the house is designed on a single floor, it allows for high ceilings, creating cooler indoor spaces with expansive views of the outdoors.
The house is 100% self-sufficient, generating its own energy through a system of batteries and solar panels, treating its wastewater with a wetland network, and using on-site water through filtration and softening systems. Additionally, 77% of the property’s surface has been preserved with its original trees and vegetation.
For the construction of the project, local building techniques and finishes were used, such as limestone and chukum; however, wood is the primary material employed. We believe that just as steel and concrete were the building materials of the 20th century, the 21st century belongs to wood. It is a renewable resource, lightweight, has a lower carbon footprint, and possesses physical properties that make it ideal for withstanding the region’s climate conditions.
Moreover, its aesthetic qualities help create a warm and comfortable environment, with proven health benefits for those who inhabit such spaces.
