Sant Llorenç des Cardassar is a quiet inland municipality in the northeast of Mallorca, set among almond groves, carob trees, and low hills that define the agricultural heartland of the island. The town retains a genuinely local character, with a modest parish church at its centre and a pace of life largely unchanged by the coastal tourism that dominates other parts of Mallorca. It sits within one of the island’s most scenically varied zones, with the Serra de Llevant hills to the north and the east coast within easy reach.
The nearby town of Artà, roughly 15 minutes by car, offers a weekly market, independent restaurants, and a well-regarded cultural scene for its size. The beaches of Cala Millor and Sa Coma are under 10 minutes by car. Manacor, the island’s second city, is approximately 20 minutes west and provides full commercial and medical services.
Palma de Mallorca is approximately 60 kilometres to the southwest, reachable in around 50 minutes by car via the Ma-15. Palma Airport handles direct flights to most major European cities and several intercontinental routes, with journey time from Sant Llorenç of roughly 45 to 55 minutes by car. There is no rail connection to this municipality, making a car essential for daily life.
