Algaida is a small agricultural town in the geographic heart of Mallorca, set within the Es Pla plain, the island’s interior farming belt. It sits apart from the coastal development that defines much of Mallorca’s real estate market, offering a landscape of cereal fields, almond groves, vineyards, and dry-stone walls. The town retains a working Mallorcan character, with a historic church, traditional architecture, and a pace of life oriented around the land rather than tourism.

Algaida’s weekly market runs on Saturdays. The town has several traditional restaurants, including Es 4 Vents on the Palma to Manacor road, known for Mallorcan cuisine. The artisan glassworks Gordiola, one of the oldest on the island, is located just outside town. Palma’s full range of dining, shopping, and cultural amenities is approximately 25 kilometres away.

Palma de Mallorca Airport is roughly 25 kilometres from Algaida, reachable in under 30 minutes by car via the Ma-15 highway, making this one of the more accessible interior locations on the island. Palma city centre is the same distance in the opposite direction. The airport operates year-round international routes to major European cities, with significantly expanded connections during the summer season.
