Engel & Völkers presents a charming historic Mansion in Voto. The spacious property, currently running as a hotel, is an ideal location for travellers looking to enjoy Cantabria’s natural beauty. Upon entering the front door, guests are received in an open vestibule facing the primary staircase. Off to one side is a cozy breakfast area, which includes part of the original stonework, and flanking the other side is a small office. Towards the back of the first floor, visitors can relax in a lounge complete with a fireplace and small bar area nearby. This floor also includes the kitchen, restrooms, ample storage, and a private living area that the owners used as part of their primary residence.

The grand staircase leads to the first floor guest rooms, 7 spacious rooms, each with an in-suite bathroom. The bedroom’s high ceilings, windows with lush green views, and thoughtful decoration make the hotel feel both spacious yet warm. One of the rooms includes an enchanting balcony looking over the lawn, while another includes an upstairs attached room with living space ideal for larger families or small groups travelling together.

The third floor is accessible through an exterior staircase and leads to a spa complete with sauna, jacuzzi, showers and an area to relax and unwind. On this floor, accessible through a different, interior staircase, are three additional rooms, one with an in-suite bathroom and dressing area, that the owners have used as their own bedrooms. This area could be modified to include more rooms for the hotel. Similarly, the layout, facilities and structure would allow the entire building to be converted into a large family residence.

This charming historic house dates back to the 17th century, although its origin lies in a medieval tower of which the walls and entrance arch are still preserved. It was completely renovated between 2000 and 2001 and converted into a hotel with an attached family residence. In subsequent renovations, exterior constructions and the spa area in the attic were executed. The establishment is categorized as a “Casona de Cantabria”, for which it is required to be located in a historic building and have a minimum set of facilities corresponding to a 3-star hotel.

It is located in San Pantaleón de Aras, Voto, within a 4,000 m² estate bordered by the Clarín River. Access to the property involves crossing a lovely stone bridge over the small river leading to the parking area, with capacity for 10 cars plus with two additional covered spaces and an electric car charging port. The property is surrounded by a green meadow with fruit tees. There is a large covered porch made of wood overlooking the green garden where guests can enjoy regardless of the weather.

San Pantaleón de Aras is a quiet area in the heart of nature with easy access to nearby services. The town center of Bádames is 5 minutes away walking, and urban centers including Colindres and Laredo are only 10 minutes away by car. Some of Cantabria’s finest beaches are less than half an hour’s drive and the hotel is only 40 minutes from Santander and 1 hour from Bilbao.
