Port Grimaud is a planned waterfront village completed in the 1960s and 1970s by architect François Spoerry, built on a lagoon at the northern end of the Gulf of Saint-Tropez. Its network of canals, pedestrian lanes, and Provençal-style facades gives it a character unlike anywhere else on the Côte d’Azur. Private moorings front many of the homes, the village is largely car-free within its core, and the scale remains intimate despite its international profile.

The village centre has its own market square, waterfront restaurants, and direct boat taxi access to Saint-Tropez, roughly 20 minutes across the bay. Grimaud village is a 10-minute drive inland. Sainte-Maxime is 15 minutes by road and offers a broader range of supermarkets, pharmacies, and everyday services.

Saint-Tropez is accessible by road in around 20 minutes outside peak season, though summer traffic makes the boat taxi the practical choice. Toulon-Hyères Airport is approximately 80 kilometres west, around one hour by car. Nice Côte d’Azur International Airport, the primary hub for the region with direct connections across Europe and beyond, is roughly 100 kilometres east, typically 90 minutes to two hours by road depending on traffic.
