Saint-Raphaël sits at the western edge of the French Riviera, where the red porphyry rock of the Massif de l’Estérel meets the Mediterranean. The city has a distinct character that sets it apart from the more commercialised resorts to the east: a working port, a Belle Époque seafront, and direct access to one of the most dramatic coastal landscapes in southern France. The Valescure quarter, set inland among pines and golf courses, represents the city’s most established residential address.

Daily life centres on the covered market on Place Victor Hugo, the restaurants along the Vieux Port, and the beaches of Santa Lucia and Agay. The Golf de Valescure and Golf de l’Estérel are both within a few minutes by car. Cannes is 40 kilometres east, Saint-Tropez roughly 60 kilometres west via the coast road.

Saint-Raphaël has a mainline TGV station with direct services to Paris Gare de Lyon in approximately three hours and connections along the coast to Nice and Marseille. Nice Côte d’Azur International Airport is around 60 kilometres east, reachable in under an hour by car outside peak season. The A8 motorway provides straightforward access to Monaco, Aix-en-Provence, and the wider region.
