L’intérieur de l’abbaye présente encore des éléments d’origine d’une rare beauté : la salle capitulaire abrite de magnifiques fresques à thème religieux datant de la fin du XIIIe siècle, tandis que l’église (datant du XIVe siècle) possède toujours les autels d’origine décorés de fresques de Bartolomeo Caporali et Fiorenzo di Lorenzo. Au sous-sol, cependant, se trouve la crypte, qui est, à ce jour, la partie la plus ancienne de l’abbaye.

A group of Cistercian monks came to the abbey in 1749 and remained there continuously until the Unification of Italy, when the property was expropriated and sold.
The interior of the abbey still features original elements of rare beauty: the chapter house houses beautiful religious-themed frescoes from the late 13th century, while the church (dating back to the 14th century) still has the original altars decorated with frescoes by Bartolomeo Caporali and Fiorenzo di Lorenzo.
