In the Val di Noto, within the territory of Modica (RG) – Sicily, a UNESCO World Heritage city, nestled in the Iblean countryside in a strategic location to experience the UNESCO heritage of the Val di Noto, 4 km from the city, Baglio dell’Ulivo is the result of a careful restoration of an ancient Baglio, a complex rural structure typical of the area. This historic building, which also includes an ancient private chapel, was restored with attentive conservation and techniques inspired by bio-architecture principles to preserve its original charm: - Chestnut beams - Thatched roofs - Lime plaster colored with natural earths in typical Mediterranean hues - Exposed local limestone walls - Cocciopesto floors cast on site - ”Pietra pece” floors Outside, a large paving of local limestone has been restored, featuring: - A thousand-year-old olive tree - A Jacuzzi-style seating area for seven - A B&B area - An outdoor kitchen Additionally, there is an annex (bedroom and bathroom) for accompanying staff. The house is fully furnished, and the furniture can be included for a small additional fee.
