W-030CGX The Place des Vosges is considered Pariss oldest urban square. Created in 1605 at the initiative of Henry IV, it has held this distinction since the Revolution.
Its tricolour architecturebrick, limestone for the quoins, string courses and surrounds, and high slate roofscharacteristic of the early 17th century, is the work of Jacques Androuët du Cerceau and Claude Chastillon.
Completed in 1612, it was inaugurated during a grand carousel held to celebrate the engagement of Louis XIII and Anne of Austria. The preservation of its remarkable uniformity is ensured by the listing of its façades as historic monuments (1920 and 195457), and by the regulations governing the Marais safeguarded sector (1960).
This unique Parisian ensemble is close to shops, public transport and all amenities in the heart of the historic Marais district. Des informations sur les risques auxquels est exposé ce bien sont disponibles sur le site Géorisques : https://www.georisques.gouv.fr/
