An 18th-century Dauphinois house in a more than 5,000-m² garden, in the Isère area, near to the Vallée Bleue leisure base and Chartreuse natural park. The property, which can be reached via a minor road, stands in the middle of a lawned and tree-lined plot, surrounded by a tall barrier of vegetation sheltering it from view. The edifice displays an archetypal L-shape from a bird’s eye view, with two separate sections set around an inner courtyard that opens out onto the garden. The four-storey, south-facing, main section is topped by a hipped roof, which made of period flat tiles, punctuated by hipped dormers. A tower with a conical roof, which is an architectural hallmark of fortified houses in the Dauphinois sector, stands at the northeast corner of the edifice. The light ochre coloured lime-rendered facades are punctuated with many small-paned windows fitted with blueish grey shutters, which is typical of the Isère area’s architectural heritage. French windows topped by a wrought-iron Juliet balcony grace the facade overlooking the garden. Next to it, a smaller single-storey building extends from the main section to the west. Beneath a roof of period tiles and boasting materials as well as an architectural style in harmony with the rest, it completes the property’s buildings. In the garden, tall trees surround the edifices.
