17th-century villa (the castle) and historic village of Marano Ticino Located on the heights of the municipality of Marano Ticino, the Castle and its historic village are nestled within the picturesque landscape of the Novara hills. The ancient structure retains its original features intact, with buildings arranged around a picturesque central courtyard accessible through a historic gateway. The village is dominated by its castle, a beautiful eighteenth-century villa, perfectly preserved and restored with particular attention to the finishes, colors, and period details. THE CASTLE Built in the second half of the 13th century, the castle was erected by the Barbarava family, and is positioned on a hill from which it is possible to see the entire Ticino valley. The villa features a crenellated tower built in the 19th century by the Carena branch of the Castiglioni family. The structure has been completely restored, with particular attention to materials, preservation of the views, and gardens. The castle is spread over two levels; the ground floor houses the entire living area, where reception and socializing spaces follow one another. An imposing stone staircase leads to the upper floor, where the private bedrooms and bathrooms are located, as well as a small living room with a wrought iron staircase leading to the panoramic tower. THE VILLAGE Currently spread over two levels, the hamlet is divided into 13 potential residential units, some of which require renovation, offering the possibility of customization. It enjoys an excellent view of a large green area, easily accessible from public parking. The internal facades of the courtyard overlook the charming eighteenth-century villa, a recognized cultural heritage site. THE VILLA Adjacent to the village is another building, La Villa, which completes the panorama of the complex. The whole property is surrounded by the farm’s agricultural land, which extends for a total of approximately 8 hectares towards the Novara plains. This location presents an attractive solution for the creation of a boutique hotel, especially considering its proximity to renowned tourist destinations such as Lake Maggiore, the internationally recognized Agrate Conturbia and Bogogno Golf Clubs, and important transport links such as Milan Malpensa Airport. Its proximity to Milan also makes the Marano Ticino area a popular tourist destination for those seeking escape from the chaos of the city and the peace of the countryside and the authentic, authentic settings the area offers. An excellent investment.
