Manacor is the second-largest city in Mallorca and the commercial and cultural capital of the island’s interior. Set among almond groves, olive trees, and limestone hills in the east of the island, it carries a distinctly Mallorcan identity, largely untouched by coastal tourism. The city is known internationally as the birthplace of Rafael Nadal and has a long tradition of furniture craftsmanship and artificial pearl production, industries that have shaped its urban fabric and mercantile character for generations.

The weekly Sunday market draws producers from across the comarca. The old town offers established restaurants serving traditional Mallorcan cuisine, including Ca’n March and several local cellers. The coastal resorts of Porto Cristo and Cala Millor are within fifteen minutes by car, as are the Coves del Drach, one of the most visited natural landmarks on the island.

Palma de Mallorca is approximately 50 kilometres to the west, reachable in around 45 minutes by car via the Ma-15. Palma Airport, the main international gateway for the Balearic Islands, handles direct routes to most major European cities and operates year-round, with journey time from Manacor of roughly 50 minutes by car. There is no direct rail connection, making a car essential for daily life in this part of the island.
