Fredentorp is located within the city of Lund. A beautiful old farm setting with a farmhouse, park-like garden and barns. 7,500 square metres of land with no neighbours! Open countryside on three sides of the farm, but with a city bus stop outside the entrance. An incredibly beautiful garden surrounds the buildings. It has an avenue leading to the old cast iron gate, which in the past was the entrance to the farm for distinguished visitors. To the right stands an ancient burial mound from the 11th century.

The farmhouse is beautifully situated with its fine woodwork and veranda that naturally faces visitors. The yellow colour is classic and the white woodwork stands out in all its splendour. I would call the style neoclassical Swiss, as these were often painted in light oil colours and were richly decorated. However, other details differ, making it difficult to define the style; presumably, the appearance of the building has evolved over the years.

There are two ‘barn buildings’ in the courtyard. The first one:

I call it the ‘shoemaker’s cottage’. According to reports, a shoemaker’s family with many children lived here. You can see the small bedrooms and really get a sense of what it must have been like to live here with the north wind howling outside. If you look out through the lattice windows at the back, you can see the raspberry patch and the beginning of Lund’s city centre in the background. The building also has two garages with beautiful old doors. There are various rooms and storage spaces on the ground floor. Then you go up a staircase and come to a completely magical mezzanine floor. What possibilities!

The stable building (facing Vallkärra) is about the same size as the shoemaker’s cottage. On the ground floor, there are eight large, well-appointed horse stalls with adjoining areas for horse care. With a tack room and various areas in the side building, this is a fully functional stable facility. The stable yard outside. There are opportunities for paddocks on privately owned land, but you would need to lease land if you have several horses. You can talk to the landowner about the possibility of leasing paddocks. We suggest the piece of land between the farm and the Fredenstorp cemetery. No guarantees can be given for such a lease, so a future owner will have to investigate this themselves. The stable building has a huge loft! If you do not have ambitions to keep horses, the stable building has great development potential, e.g. as a party venue, collector car storage, your own business or whatever else you may need.
