La Turbie sits at an elevation of roughly 480 metres on the Grande Corniche, the highest of the three coastal roads linking Nice to Monaco, and it is defined above all by the Trophy of Augustus, a Roman monument erected in 6 BC to mark Rome’s conquest of the Alpine tribes. The village retains its medieval core of narrow stone lanes and vaulted passages, with views that extend across the Principality of Monaco and the Mediterranean below. It is a working Provençal village with genuine historical weight.

The village has a weekly market, a handful of traditional restaurants including the well-regarded Hostellerie Jérôme, and a bakery and small shops for daily needs. Monaco is approximately ten minutes by car via the Grande Corniche or the A8 motorway junction at La Turbie, placing the Principality’s restaurants, port, and casino within easy reach.

The A8 motorway is accessible directly from La Turbie, connecting to Nice in around 25 minutes and to the Italian border at Ventimiglia in roughly 30 minutes. Nice Côte d’Azur International Airport is approximately 30 to 35 minutes by car, offering direct flights to major European and international destinations. Monaco’s heliport, reachable in under ten minutes, provides connections to both Nice airport and other regional destinations.
