L'hôtel De Montagne Historique Schwarenbach Dans Les Imposantes Alpes Bernoises Au Gemmipass

An ancient trade route and a postal road: The Gemmi was once the most frequented pass in the Alps! It connects the cantons of Bern and Valais. In the middle of the pass at 2061 m above sea level stands one of the oldest inns in the alpine Valais: The Schwarenbach Mountain Hotel. Then as now, the mountain inn is in the right place; it is a stopover or starting point for mountain tours and numerous hikes.
From Kandersteg, one can comfortably take the Sunnbühlbahn up and hike in about an hour with only a slight elevation difference of nearly 200m to the Schwarenbach Mountain Hotel. From the Leukerbad side in Valais, the mountain hotel can be reached via the Gemmibahn and the eponymous pass in about 1.5 hours with a pleasant descent of 250m.
Thus, it is also considered a popular hiking destination for less athletic individuals and families, enjoying great popularity.
The location offers a haven of relaxation amidst the seclusion of the high Alps.
