Built in the traditional German “hill barn” style, the structure was incorporated into the hillside to create three usable levels with wide access doors originally designed for wagons and livestock. Today, it stands as an extraordinary surviving example of the region’s early German-American architecture.

Additional improvements include a separate guest house with a kitchenette, full bath, and combined living/sleeping area; a spacious equipment shed located below the stone barn; and a small historic-style log structure known as the Smoke House, tucked just behind the main residence and adding even more character to the setting.
