Un rêve estival situé à la campagne dans le sud de Gotland, datant de 1780, avec une belle maison de deux étages bien conservée pleine de détails d’époque, nichée dans un jardin luxuriant avec un bulhus traditionnel de Gotland. Je conduis lentement à travers le paysage verdoyant du début de l’été de Gotland, et une fois arrivé, je franchis le portail accueillant situé dans la clôture qui entoure la petite propriété. Aujourd’hui, je suis seule ici et je m’installe immédiatement pour écouter le chant du rossignol dans le coin est du jardin, juste derrière le magnifique bulhus caractéristique au toit de chaume.
Aujourd’hui, le 12 mai, le soleil se lève, après un printemps exceptionnellement froid. Je m’assois sur la dalle de calcaire devant les portes d’entrée de la maison principale blanchie à la chaux et je me contente de tout admirer. Un bourdon bourdonne dans le rosier qui vient de déplier ses feuilles, et une hirondelle a des poussins cachés sous les tuiles du toit, au faîtage de l’aile rouge. Les lilas sont sur le point de fleurir et regorgent de boutons violets et blancs. Maintenant, l’été est à nos portes et les vents chauds redonnent vie à la maison après son sommeil hivernal.

A rurally situated summer dream in southern Gotland, dating back to 1780, with a beautiful, well-preserved two-story house full of period details, nestled in a lush garden with a traditional Gotland bulhus.
I drive slowly through the early summer-green landscape of Gotland, and once I arrive, I step through the welcoming gate in the fence that surrounds the small homestead. Today, I’m alone here, and I immediately settle down to listen to the nightingale singing in the eastern corner of the garden, just behind the beautiful, characteristic bulhus with its thatched roof.
Today, on the 12th of May, the sun is out, showing itself after an unusually chilly spring. I sit on the limestone slab outside the front doors of the whitewashed main house and simply take it all in. A bumblebee buzzes in the rosebush that has just unfolded its leaves, and a swallow has chicks tucked under the roof tiles at the ridge of the red wing. The lilacs are about to bloom, heavy with purple and white buds. Now, summer stands at the doorstep, and warm winds fill the house with life after its winter slumber.
