Vallauris sits on the hills above the Golfe-Juan bay, a few kilometres inland from the Côte d’Azur coastline between Cannes and Antibes. The town carries a long association with ceramics and studio craft, reinforced by Pablo Picasso’s years working here in the late 1940s and early 1950s. The surrounding landscape is one of pine-covered slopes and Mediterranean scrub, with the sea visible from the higher residential streets that characterise the area around Golfe-Juan.

Daily life centres on the market in Vallauris and the waterfront at Golfe-Juan, where the port offers straightforward access to restaurants and the beach. Cannes, with its full range of dining, retail, and cultural venues, is roughly ten minutes by car. Antibes and Juan-les-Pins are equally close in the opposite direction.

Nice Côte d’Azur International Airport is approximately 25 kilometres away, reachable in around 30 minutes by car under normal traffic conditions. Cannes train station, served by TGV and regional TER services, connects to Paris in roughly five and a half hours and to Monaco in under an hour. The A8 motorway provides direct access to the broader regional road network toward Marseille and the Italian border.
