Maison Fréjus

Fréjus occupies a distinctive position on the Var coast, where the Massif de l’Esterel meets the Mediterranean. One of the oldest Roman settlements in Gaul, the city retains a remarkably intact historic core: an amphitheatre, aqueduct remains, and a cathedral complex dating to the early medieval period give the old town a depth of character rarely found along this stretch of coastline. It sits apart from the more commercialised resort towns to the east, offering a more grounded, year-round Provençal identity.

Daily life centres on the covered market on Place Paul Vernet and the weekly markets in the old town. The sandy beaches of Fréjus-Plage are a ten-minute drive. Saint-Raphaël, directly adjacent, adds further dining and marina options. The Lac de Saint-Cassien is around 25 minutes inland for freshwater recreation.

Saint-Raphaël TGV station, less than five kilometres away, connects to Marseille in under an hour and to Paris in approximately four hours. Nice Côte d’Azur International Airport is around 60 kilometres east, reachable in 45 to 55 minutes by car depending on traffic. The A8 motorway provides direct access west toward Aix-en-Provence and east toward Cannes and Monaco, making Fréjus a practical base for the wider Côte d’Azur.
